Design Engineer (Engineering)
Job Summary
The Design Engineer conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, such as engines, equipment, machines and associated components, utilizing and applying engineering principles, research data and proposed product specifications.
Essential Functions
· Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal
· Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics
· Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system
· Plans and develops experimental test programs
· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
· May design holding fixtures, part handling, assembly tools, special gages, cutting tools, and automation
· Develop working relationships with other departments to address and resolve problems and to develop better cooperation for working together toward producing the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost
· Act as technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and sales, assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems
· Use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for parametric modeling, simulation, analysis, and product documentation

Required
· High School Diploma or equivalent GED
· 2 years of related experience
· CAD-CAM experience (Pro-E / Solidworks)
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications and blueprints
Preferred
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
