IT Systems Admin (Information Technology)



POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Systems Administrator at Akron Area YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture while administering technology systems as a part of the Information Technology team by managing, evaluating and maintaining information system equipment, systems, policies, and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manages and supports all aspects of information systems in conjunction with IT team under direction of the Technology Director.
Strategically plans for the long-term technology needs of the YMCA.
Coordinate technical support activities with other technology department staff; serving any support needs of the organization as needed.
Resolves problems to the end user's satisfaction.
Provides prompt response to all technical support issues and participates at all levels of support as needed (includes 24hr on-call availability and participation in on-duty rotation).
Leads network and communication infrastructure such as LAN, WAN, Data Lines, Servers, and related equipment, services & vendor contracts.
Leads compliance initiatives for PCI and HIPPA; including development and enforcement of policy, compliance reporting and inspection of hardware.
Leads data redundancy, data back-up processes, and data retention practices are followed.
Administer user accounts across all platforms in collaboration with other primary stakeholders.
Installs, tests and configures new networking equipment (routers, switches, wireless etc…) and servers.
Maintains Security (Firewalls, data services, etc…)
Set, manage, and enforce network security and privacy policies.
Researches and identifies new technology trends that relate to the YMCA's needs and makes recommendations.
Evaluates and recommends technology equipment, software, and tools for purchase.
Manage a preventative maintenance plan for network equipment and servers that includes routine security inspection & monitoring and critical updates.
Provides regular reports to supervisor on status of projects, services, and contracts.
Builds relationships and creates a welcoming environment for all end users.
Support YMCA initiatives; understand, discuss, and promote all YMCA programs.
Be familiar with the Annual Campaign and be able to speak about its impact on our community. We invite all staff to participate in the YMCA's Annual Campaign. Participation is voluntary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

5. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years' experience working in IT environment required.
· Experience installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft Server OS, Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Teams, and Microsoft Azure is required.
· Experience configuring and supporting virtual server environments required
· Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and processes is required.
· Ability to diagnose technical issues, analyze root causes and implement effective solutions.
· Ability to meticulously manage system configurations and maintain data accuracy.
· Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users to explain complex issues and provide support, training, and documentation.
· Experience with HIPAA privacy and security rules preferred.

PREFERRED PROFICIENCIES:
· Virtual Environments: VMware and/or Hyper-V.
· Technical Certifications: ITIL certification, CISSP certification.
· Network Infrastructure: Sophos, Cisco, Meraki
· Phone Systems: Configuring and managing telephone systems, VoIP environments and related services.
· Security: Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, APM or equivalent technologies.



WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
· The staff member frequently is required to sit, reach, and move around the work environment.
· The staff member will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
· The staff member will occasionally be required to use a ladder over 8' tall.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· The staff member will occasionally be exposed to tight, cramped or small space environments including cramped data closets, crawl spaces, and overhead ceilings.
· The staff member will be exposed to dust and similar air contaminants.
