Talent Acquisition Specialist (Finance)
Job Summary
Under supervision of the Talent Acquisition Manager, this role interviews and hires candidates for the Santa Cruz Seaside Company. Oversee, execute and coordinate various recruiting programs such as campus activities, hiring fairs, Work and Travel Program, Referral Program, 10 Day Work and Play, High School Staff Appreciation, and other special programs. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing and hiring employees for the Santa Cruz Seaside Company. They factor in the long-term goals of an organization and acknowledge that people play a huge role in a company's future successes. This position also supports promoting the Company's brand through recruitment initiatives and events.
Unique Job Requirements
Must be highly organized and be able work in a fast-paced office, dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to build rapport quickly with a variety of people and have an inviting approach. Must have initiative and be able to make effective decisions independently. Some night and weekend work required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Job Tasks
Full cycle recruiting for high volume seasonal and year-round career full-time positions
Attend and coordinate job events and recruiting programs, as directed.
Serve as back up in the normal day-to-day activities for the HR Coordinators.
Educate applicants on company grooming standards and other policies as needed.
Liaising with internal departments to determine recruitment needs.
Determining selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for vacant positions.
Sourcing potential candidates through online career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms, as well as print media, posters, and flyers, when required.
Managing hiring processes via HRIS
Evaluating applications and screening candidates via calls or emails, as well as facilitating pre-interview assessments.
Compiling interview questions and conducting in-person or video call interviews with candidates.
Documenting processes and fostering good relationships with potential candidates and past applicants.
Developing hiring strategies and procedures in line with industry trends, as well as keeping informed of advancements in the field.
Community Activities:
Develop and maintain effective community relations in order to create a pipeline of talent.
Provide presentations, perform campus interviews, attend career workshops and hiring fairs.
J1 Visa Work and Travel Program:
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the employment agencies.
Coordinate the recruitment process and housing for international work and travel applicants/employees.
Provide ongoing support to Work and Travel participants.
Hire, train and supervise Work and Travel Housing Coordinators and other support positions.
Coordinate inventory of housing supplies and tools.
Oversee employee housing coordination
Partner with Property Manager for move-in and move-out of apartments.
Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist:
Supervise Employment Staff in the Talent Acquisition Manager's absence.
Assist Talent Acquisition Manager in the development, implementation, and administration of the recruiting plan.
Assist in the development of recruiting sources for specialty job openings.
Relationships (Internal)
All level of employees of the Santa Cruz Seaside Company.
Relationships (External)
School administrators, Career Center staff, applicants and the general public.
Qualifications: Training and Experience
Any combination of training and experience which would be equivalent to two year plus experience in recruiting or HR or other related field which demonstrates the ability to work well with the public and to develop rapport quickly. Bilingual in Spanish is helpful.
Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist: Minimum 5 years plus experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Professional Human Resources certification preferred
Previous experience seeking talent recruitment and assisting with onboarding processes
Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally
Experience in the continual development of talent pipelines and sourcing potential candidates
Ability to speak knowledgeably about the company and answer any questions a potential hire may have
Firm understanding and implementation of recruiting metrics to drive decision-making is strongly preferred
Proficient in using company software and databases to connect with and reach out to potential candidates
Previous experience developing and executing recruiting marketing and branding strategies
Experience working with a diverse team and striving for fairness in hiring all races, genders and ages
Physical Requirements
Able to work in an office environment.
Able to hear normal conversations and to see applicants and documents (applications, etc.).
Able to attend and set up booths at hiring fairs and trade shows, and tours of the facilities.
Able to lift 35 lb.
Licenses / Insurance
Possess and maintain a valid California U.S. Driver's License at the time of hire. Required to maintain automobile liability coverage with a minimum of $15,000.00 bodily injury one person/$30,000.00 bodily injury total accident/$5,000.00 property damage coverage per California's minimum liability insurance requirements. (Required if the employee will at anytime use own vehicle to perform company business functions)
