Toth and Associates is seeking a talented Design Technician in our Transmission, Distribution, and Communication Line Design team with a passion for production and workflow processes. As a Design Technician, you will work with close guidance and supervision on a variety of utility projects, including overhead and underground power and communications. The main duties of the job include reviewing field data and converting it to usable data utilized in the design and construction of engineering projects.

  

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Problem solving and both written and spoken communication skills will be integral to the role. Highly desired skills include the ability to facilitate a collaborative and cooperative environment among various team members to build stronger working relationships in which data is processed and problems are caught and solved efficiently and effectively.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate desired technical products detail, approach, purpose, and other instructions necessary for technicians to achieve desired product.
  • Proficient in software programs MS Office, Adobe, and MS Teams.
  • Effectively communicate perceived or real discrepancies in field collection data, maps, drawings, exhibits, and groups of these deliverables to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
  • Work with engineers regarding accuracy, design, standards, and design documentation.
  • 1-3 years of computer data management and integration.

  • Natural ability to focus.

  • Proficient in MS Project.

  • Personable to a wide variety of individuals from client to contractor to engineering staff.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Documentation management and ability to use computer software tools.

  • Attention to details even under pressure.

  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
