Account Relationship Representative, Client Servicing (Finance)
Responsible for providing support to banking, investment and trust relationship managers on a Wealth Advisory or Private Client Service team, as well as clients assigned to these teams. Initiate a full range of account activity using the various banking, investment and trust systems. Assist with the team sales process by gathering information, preparing appropriate documents, and tracking progress. Emphasis should be placed on ensuring that we are meeting the client needs and exceeding their expectations.
Major Responsibilities:
•Supports banking, investment and trust relationship managers with all aspects of assigned accounts, including the completion of formal account reviews.
•Ensures materials are prepared for meetings and assists with transactions requested by clients.
•Submits account documents to legal area for review and collects assets and family information.
•Reviews all correspondence and accompanying documentation from clients for accuracy and assimilates all possible information about the client.
•Opens and closes accounts and is proficient with banking, investment and trust systems.
•Set-up files with account documentation for existing or new clients.
•Prints out or orders reports that the relationship manager or client requests.
•Processes daily transactions requested by the clients and initiates the distribution of funds as directed by banking, investment or trust relationship managers, utilizing banking and trust cash movement accounting systems.
•Interacts independently with partner areas to communicate information regarding all aspects of a client relationship and to initiate and implement activity which fulfills client needs.
•Develops a thorough understanding of individual client circumstances for the banking, investment and trust relationship managers assigned account base. Identifies opportunities and problems within account relationships and recommends appropriate actions to the relationship manager.
•Communicates with clients and the banking, investment and trust relationship managers on client requests. Ensure that matters are followed up with and resolved. Monitors overdraft and other exception/transaction reports, and contacts clients or partners when required.
•Prepares account analysis for the banking, investment and trust relationship managers or clients. Interpret documents at the request of the relationship manager and make recommendations based off discoveries.
•Interacts with partners on a daily basis to receive and communicate information on all aspects of a client relationship.
•Keeps abreast of all new products and services to respond to client questions and to assist in selling services.
•Participates in client and internal meetings as frequently as directed by the banking, investment and trust relationship managers.
•Responds directly to client inquiries and initiates client contact when appropriate.
•Teaches and trains other divisional personnel and works to help cross train team members in the various disciplines (banking, investment and trust).
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
•3-5 years of banking, investment and trust related experience.
•Strong client service skills developed through experience working at Northern Trust, or another wealth management or financial services institution.
•Individuals should be cross trained to assist banking, investment and trust relationship managers.
•Good understanding of the banking, investment and trust internal applications and tools used to update account information, complete transactions, run reports, etc.
•Demonstrates the willingness and ability to work in both individual and team settings.
