Mechanic I (Maintenance)
Assists in troubleshooting and expediting repairs of essential machines and equipment as needed.
Preventive Maintenance which includes duties such as changing the oil, belts, filter, and bearing on the hydraulic machines
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment, using precision measurement tools.
Installs machinery and equipment as required.
Sharpen all knives on a daily basis
Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines.
Keep the repair shop neat, clean, and organized
May provide assistance to more skilled workers performing installation, adjustment, maintenance, parts, replacement, and repairs.
Report any serious maintenance problems or safety hazards to the facilities supervisor and safety.
Follow all safety GMP, and HACCP guidelines that relate to mechanical issues
Under direct supervision, work with a small team or alone to achieve task-specific goals as mentioned above.
Keep an accurate log of all work performed
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we are seeking:
Ability to perform calibrations, installation, and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred (valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lube routes)
Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components
Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints, etc.
