U.S. Silica is a global performance materials company and a leading producer of commercial silica used in a wide range of industrial applications and in the oil and gas industry. We control 489 million tons of reserves of commercial silica, which can be processed to make 197 million tons of finished products that meet American Petroleum Institute ("API") frac sand specifications, and 79 million tons of reserves of diatomaceous earth, perlite, and clays.

The Company is headquartered in Katy, Texas, and has an office located in Reno, Nevada.

The Rockwood Millwright has the responsibility to inspect, maintain, repair, fabricate, install and lubricate plant machinery, equipment and facilities.

The current schedule is Monday - Friday, Day Shift 7a - 3p; Afternoon shift 3p - 11p; Night shift 11p - 7a

This opening is for the Afternoon shift or the Night Shift. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and document pre-shift inspections on mobile equipment
  • Inspect and document work area for safety/environmental concerns
  • Perform housekeeping in immediate work area and other areas as instructed
  • Troubleshoot, dismantle, clean, repair, install, assemble, inspect, replace worn parts, maintain and lubricate all plant machinery, equipment, plant facilities and mobile equipment following scheduled or break in work orders
  • Determine tool/material requirements needed - Report parts inventory changes
  • Remove material and or debris as necessary to complete maintenance work
  • Perform housekeeping in immediate work area and other areas as instructed
  • Load or unload deliveries and shipments
  • Communicate with Plant Millwrights and Supervision to insure continuity of operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

AUTHORITY:

  • Fulfill the role of Leadman as required – Make maintenance decisions and direct the maintenance workforce when a supervisor is not available
  • To shut down any piece of equipment for safety reasons or to prevent damage
  • Self-direct selection of available work orders when time allows
  • Additional specific authorities may be found on the Rockwood Task List
