Senior Director of Human Resources (Immediate) (Finance)
Lead and oversee all functions of human resources of a public charter school network with approximately 500 employees, including the offer and hiring process, teacher credentialing, benefits, employee safety and compliance, employee engagement and off-boarding.
Create, implement and engage internal stakeholders with exceptional human resource tools, support, systems and processes
Annually (or as needed) evaluate, recommend and manage the administration of a cost-effective, employee-centric benefit program, including working directly with our broker to oversee benefits orientation, onboarding, and all related systems and processes to ensure STRIVE Prep staff receive quality cost-effective benefits and quality customer service.
Provide outstanding executive administration and support to school leaders, and other senior leaders, including high-quality people management coaching
Maintains knowledge of and ensure organizational compliance and best practices in employment law, human resources, District and Colorado education-specific rules and laws related to HR and talent, benefits and insurance, workplace safety and apply that knowledge to support HR functions across the STRIVE Prep Network, including coaching and training supervisors and people managers to ensure proper administration and organizational compliance.
Annually and as needed, review and make policy change recommendations of STRIVE Prep employment policies (such as leaves of absence) and employee handbook, manage the rollout of employee policies and handbook and provide training and coaching of employee policies to supervisors and leadership, manage HR team to successfully respond to employee questions about policies.
Hands-on experience with Human Resource Management software, manage vendor relationships as needed
Manage HR team, oversee daily workflow of the department, provide constructive and timely performance evaluations and coaching support to HR team
Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to ensure that all HR, compensation and employee wellness policies, systems and practices are created and implemented with a DEI lens.
Manage procedures for appropriate and timely management of employee personnel and performance issues as they arise, including resolving employee grievances and complaints, and conducting internal investigations and terminations when necessary.
Manage Network-wide employee performance evaluation system, including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and update system as needed, train supervisors and leadership on system and coach leaders to increase network-wide people management skills and outcomes
Collaborate with Talent Team leadership to set and achieve strategic human capital goals, and ensure DEI best practices are at the foundation of STRIVE Prep's culture, mindsets, systems and processes.
Maintain familiarity and knowledge of best practices and market competitiveness regarding industry compensation systems and monitor STRIVE Prep compensation systems for effectiveness, equity, and cost containment. Make recommendations for improvement of compensation systems as needed.
Communicate effectively across all mediums and engage staff across the Network to lead a culture of excellence in human resources at all levels of the organization
Monitor qualitative and quantitative data and use such data to identify gaps in our existing human resources policies and practices, and partner with senior leaders to develop and implement new policies and structures to address gaps and inform human capital decisions.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop and implement a network-wide wellness program.
Additional Duties
Assist with other duties/tasks as needed or assigned by the Chief of Staff, Chief Executive Officer, and other senior leadership team members.
As a member of the Central Leadership Team, you will be an active participant in network and school-level activities and/or events.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (OR PREFERENCES WHERE NOTED)
Bachelor's degree (required). Degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, industrial psychology, business administration (preferred). Master's Degree in a field connected to Human Resources (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience. Minimum of 3 years in HR leadership in an organization with at least 200+ employees and 3 years managing teams (at least two direct reports).
Human resource experience in charter schools, school districts, or educational related field (preferred)
Demonstrated relationship and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, develop, and communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification (strongly preferred).
Minimum Physical Requirements
Independent travel (often without advanced notice) in the Denver metro area
Ability to maintain appropriate demeanor and professional behavior when working with adults and students
Ability to sit for extended periods
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate verbally via telephone, over video conferencing and in-person
